Scaling Up Productive Water
The Scaling Up Productive Water Project (SUPW), implemented by iDE, explored how to increase adoption of water-smart technology at the base of the pyramid. From this experience, a body of knowledge emerged that provides useful lessons and insights for the future. iDE and its partners continue to learn about challenges and issues and strive to make these lessons learned and successful strategies available to everyone, not only through this website, but also through presentations at conferences, in publications, and in one-on-one sessions with farmers, manufacturers, retailers, government officials, and donors.

Greater impact with less labor and less water.
Irrigation technology, and supporting equipment and services, provides the key to increasing farm production while reducing the impact on the natural environment. From 2009 through 2016, iDE and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) explored how to expand irrigation for small-scale farmers through the practical application of various business models in Central America, Africa, and Asia.
